Further to my last missive on this, don’t forget we are meeting at Larkhall Sports and Social Club, 2nd May at 19.30. Apparently, the road its along is quite narrow, but there is plenty of parking once you are there. If anyone is stuck for a lift, if you let a committee member know we can arrange car sharing from St Mary’s. So, do get in touch. The only requirements are, comfy shoes and some money for a drink. Oh yes, and it won’t rain!
The Boules club, have kindly offered Bath WI a place in 2018 season Boules’ competition. We would be in the lower division and play 14 matches over the summer season on a Thursday @ 19.30 starting in May. There are 2 rounds each match (hardly onerous) and all is done and dusted by 8.30/9.00, in time for a quick drink and post match analysis!!!
Each week, we will need at least 4 members, with a maximum of 8, in order to field a team. It doesn’t have to be the same players each week and if we are really keen, we can meet at other times to hone our skills, in order that we might win a few games – after all, it can’t be that difficult! Famous last words.
I’ll gather details of those who might be interested at the meeting in May and set up a mailing group and hopefully, it won’t be too difficult to get a weekly team together.
Have a think about it. It should be a lot of fun and even if you don’t want to play over the summer, come along as groupies to help discuss tactics and even pointers on how to toss a boule. See you at the taster session on the 2nd May.
