We had a great evening led, by our lovely Chairperson, Jess McKillop. Jess revisited our 2016/17 year and spoke about some of the speaker highlights, the prowess of the crafty group and the book club, not to mention the darts team and walking group! She announced that due to work and family commitments, she was no longer able to be President and that we would need to find someone else to pick up the mantle. Jess will be sorely missed. Trisha was voted into the role and we know that she will pick up the mantle brilliantly and maintain Jess’s enthusiasm and steadfastness.
Jess was presented with a beautiful bouquet of autumnal flowers and a frame of pictures commemorating her time with The Bath WI.
Having a craft activity with our AGM seems to work well. Sue Deere and her ‘Bath WI elves’ prepared felt stockings for us to decorate and sew. Indeed, members were so keen, they started before instructions were given and soon the whole room was buzzing with chatter as members beavered away.
So, we have another year ahead of us and through the committee, the aim is for it to be as successful as previous years
