Vale House Kitchen

I seem to have blinked and all of a sudden our June meeting is upon us.  This month we are lucky to have Bod Griffiths of Vale House Kitchens (VHK), speak to us about Bee Keeping.

VHK is a bespoke country skills and cookery school situated in the village of Timsbury, 8 miles southwest of Bath. They offer a wide range of cookery and baking courses as well as a unique opportunity to acquire or hone your fishing, shooting, foraging, brewing and butchery skills.

Vale House Kitchen was conceived by Bod and Annie Griffiths in early 2011. Bod has been passionate about shooting and fishing since childhood, and spent his school holidays exploring the West Country. After working in London for 20 years and moving to Vale House, Bod wanted to find a way to combine his passion for people and business with his love of the countryside.

Sally Watts, our crafty member, attended a Jams & Jellies course last year at VHK where she met Bod and was bowled over by his enthusiasm for Bee Keeping.   He has been keeping bees at Vale House Kitchen for around 4 years.  She asked if he might be interested in coming to talk to us…..and the rest is just history!  He is planning to bring a beehive and various other bits and pieces of beekeeping equipment. So, come armed with your questions and no doubt we may learn of other bee keepers in our midst.

Bod asked me to share the information about a really good  VHK summer jams and jellies course on Sunday 3rd July – they can kindly offer Bath WI members discount places at £75pp if anyone is interested? This is a discount of £60 – very generous.  Thank you.  Below is the website if you require more information or would like to make a booking.
