This month’s WI Crafty Night Out was Willow Weaving for Birds. Su MacPherson has been showing our Crafty Ladies how to make Willow feeders, large and small and also Willow nesters for the birds returning to our gardens.
The ladies, despite being absolute beginners, showed amazing talent and each produced three items – a twirly feeder for fat balls, a matching nester for wool, string, dogs hair or any fluffy bits for nests and a bigger hanging feeder for bread, apples nuts etc. We scoffed ginger cake and flapjacks to keep up the energy levels and eventually dispersed at 10.30 after a good natter about such things as our book club and our lovely president!
Su will be running similar Willow Workshops on 7/8/9 April at Verve, one of the new shops at the top of the London Road, Bath. www.verveliving.uk for more info and for booking.
Su has been making a giant hedgehog for Bristol Zoo. Please do go along and have a look.
