Our next meeting is on Wednesday 2nd December, same time and place (St Marys, Bathwick – doors open at 7.30pm) but this time with tinsel on! Although it is still very early December and many of us are in denial, it is our Christmas meeting so feel free to dust off that Christmas jumper, Santa hat or reindeer earrings for the evening! ‘Tis the season to be jolly and there will be carols around the tree and Christmas lights to get us in the festive mood.
The December meeting is our annual WI quiz night so come and make up a table team of 5-6. If you’re able, please bring a sharing plate as we’ll have time to chat and mingle before, during and after! And be warned, there will be mulled wine so it might be an idea to book a taxi as Jess’s secret recipe is usually too good for just the one glass. We’ll also be serving the usual selection of wine and soft drinks, and possible something sparkly to complement the tinsel! And do remember that guests are always welcome, especially at Christmas!

There was an enthusiastic yes to putting together another Pamper Hamper for the Women’s Refuge this Christmas. For new members, at this time of the year we have gathered a collection of toiletries or treats to give a group of women who are just trying to get through the season something to make them feel a little pampered and special. They will need to divide everything we give equally between those at the refuge so smaller is better but anything you would like to give is very gratefully received. Any hotel freebies are appreciated, or those tear out sachets from magazines or why not add the free third in a buy two get one free offer. Whatever you would like to give will be appreciated enormously.

Are any of our members due to appear on the New Year’s Honours List? If so then can we know please as there will be an article featuring Honoured WI members in the February WI Life magazine. They would like to know what you get and a little about why by the end of the year, so don’t be shy about letting us know!
