Many thanks to Sally for hosting our Crafty Night Out last night! Our Sally is famed throughout the West Country for her fantastic Welsh cakes, and last night we were also treated to lemon cake (with limoncello!) and we were tasked with being guineapigs to test the fudge recipe Sally is using to make wedding favours…it’s a tough job but someone has to do it! (sorry I forgot to take a photo when the cake stand was full…)

crafty2For most of our crafty nights out we have someone to teach us a new skill – in the past this has been rag rugging, crochet, knitting, English paper piecing patchwork (try saying that after a glass of wine!) and much more – but every now and then it is nice to just ask ladies to bring their own projects to keep their hands busy while we chat and eat cake.

crafty1Wendy told us about the crafts she has learned on cruises, including quilling…

crafty3At the end of the evening Wendy gave Sally the quilled photo frame she had made as a thank you, and the old photo of Sally’s daughter looked perfect in it!

crafty4If you would like to come along to a crafty night out, please have a word with Sally at one of our main WI meetings.
