SANDS is a national charity working with anyone who has been affected by stillbirth or neonatal death. They provide help via telephone lines, an online forum, website information or through one of their 104 local groups. Here in Bath there is a group based at the RUH. Volunteers, often with personal experience, help families through a devasting time in their lives.
Frances Liardet, a Frome WI member and SANDS volunteer, will talk about the work of the national charity before looking at the setting up of the local branch in 2011 by Ceri and Chris Shaw. She discuss how bereaved parents are supported and talk briefly about fundraising.
