Bath WI meeting Wednesday 7th January, St Marys Bathwick – doors open 7.30pm
‘Brains and beauty’ underlies the work of Kath Roberts, interior designer, and explores the relationship between creativity and technology in the world of design. At our January meet she will be using a room she recently created at the Chapel boutique hotel as her case study, explaining the process behind the design as well as how the ideas can be adapted for everyday living. Kath will also be bringing along the new Spring interior colours for those wanting to be ahead of the trend!
She began her career in theatre design before setting up a company called ‘Whirlygig – Learning Through Laughter’, which put on educational productions for children. With this she toured throughout South Africa for 9 years and the company was invited to entertain Nelson Mandela on his 79th birthday! A definite claim to fame!
Back in the UK Kath set up Inside Interiors Ltd in 2003. She has worked on many commercial interior design projects including cafes/restaurants in the Tower of London, the Science Museum, Barbican cafe and Thermae Bath Spa. More recently she designed the window for Duo Boots in Bath as well as London and Edinburgh. If you get a chance, go and have a look before she transforms it from its festive guise to its new spring outfit.
